How to register as self-employed?

To work with Onestaff, you need to register as self-employed with HRMC. This is an easy process which you can do here : https://www.gov.uk/register-for-self-assessment/self-employed Please note that you will need a National Insurance number in order to register with HMRC.

In order to register, first you will need to create a Government Gateway account. This grants you access to the government’s range of online services, the most important of which is HMRC’s Self Assessment portal. Your Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) number will be sent to you within 2 weeks after registration. You will need to submit this UTR number to Onestaff as soon as possible.

After that, you will need to give a name to your ‘business’, the most common is to use your own name.

2 - Register for HMRC Taxes and choose ""I want to tell HMRC that I am in business and need to register for a new tax or tell HMRC that the company is now active""

Click on the ""next"" button until the page where you need to select one service to register and your type of business appears: choose Self Assessment for taxes and Self-employed/Sole trader/Sole proprietor for the type of business

How to obtain a certificate of self-employed person?

The requirements for submitting your UTR document are very specific and the verification takes 2 days, so if it is wrong your payment may be delayed.

Please follow these instructions very carefully to avoid rejection and having to repeat the process.

You can either provide a screenshot by sign-in from the HMRC website:

Go to your 'Account Home'
Take a screenshot of the entire page
Make sure the following are visible:

Your name
The UTR number

Upload it to your profile in the Earnings section

What are the advantages of being self-employed?

The freelancing status allows you to earn a much better hourly rate. Depending on your profile, the hourly rate ranges from £12 to £25 excluding tax in the UK.

What are the payment terms?

The payment deadline for an independent establishment is 15 working days (i.e. 3 working weeks).

The payment period for a group of establishments (Large Account) can be up to 30 working days (i.e. 6 working weeks).

The payment of your assignments is fully automated via Mangopay - trusted third-party payment platform - which pays you by bank transfer once your ** RIB ** has been entered in the "Compensation" tab. To receive your pay, your identity document and self-employed certificate dated less than 3 months must also be validated by Mangopay (24 to 48 hours).

In the _ "Invoices" _ tab, 4 statuses indicate the payment of your missions:

** Upcoming payment **: The establishment will make the payment
** Transfer in progress **: The establishment has made the payment
** Paid **: The money has been transferred to your account, you will receive it within 3 days
** Cancelled **: The mission was cancelled because it was not completed

How to receive shifts ?

When you accept a shift, the establishment is informed of your availability. You are automatically alerted if the establishment validates your profile.

||| Make sure to activate push notifications and check that the ""Holidays"" or ""Weekend"" mode is not activated. || You receive shifts if your profession has been validated.
